I’m having trouble authenticating an account to add to my authenticator

Im trying to add a work account so I may access a Remote Desktop to my authenticator and the problem I am having is every time I try to add the account to the authenticator it asks me to put in the code but doesn’t prompt me or give me the option to actually enter the code
