I want to buy an app service domain I already had some years ago. I receive a conflict and the error message "The requested domain already exists in Azure database.", The domain itself is available. I had a different Azure account previously because of changes in the Partner Account I had to move everything to a completely different Azure tenant. So far everything worked except this domain. I went back to the old tenant, but there is this domain no more in. Seems it is in some internal database entry still existing, but I cannot remove it there.

@Fritz Hajek Thanks for your patience on this. I am summarizing our offline discussion and posting the same as Answer for the benefit of other community members.

Issue: Customer is unable to purchase the App service domain failing with error "The requested domain already exists in Azure database."

    Solution :

    • Upon investigating further, engineering team has purged the domain from backend.
    • Customer has retried the purchase of App service domain operation , but failed due to lack of sufficient payment history on that particular subscription.
    • From the backend logs, we can see that customer has purchased the same domain from a different subscription.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions on this.

Please accept as "Yes" if the answer is helpful so that it can help others in the community.
