Hi,

which are the best options to keep track with name-changes of old products and the release of new-products?

Be it:

  • "Name change due to not having success - and re-branding the product. Maybe with some updates so we can sell it as "new"
  • "absorption" of products into others (like Standalone Q&A into Azure AI Search"...
  • "Cease of service"
  • "REALLY new products" - like CosmosDB...

Not only, but especially with developments during the last 2 years (AI&Co-Pilot...)

Which sources do You use?

Do you know of a website/blog which more or less explains this? I'm not looking for individual official press statements or marketing-speak - but true answers instead ;-)

I'm not looking for Microsoft-Bashing (...tooooo easy...) but for helpful explanation & "the big picture".

Graphs showing a timeline would also be appreciated.

Bye

Michael

    Hello Michael Schmidt,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

We understand your point that having a dedicated page to tracking all the major and minor changes that are happening or have occurred in the Azure landscape will be helpful. But Microsoft’s product ecosystem is vast and rapidly evolving, with frequent updates, rebranding, integrations, and even retirements across services. Due to this scale and speed, it’s nearly impossible for one resource to cover every change in depth.

We generally use Azure Updates and Tech Community blogs for checking on the latest news on Azure.
