OpenID Connect Custom Provider with Microsoft Entra External ID

Question

Is it possible to create a OpenID Connect provider in Entra External Id?

The console suggests it is, but the option is not available:

Add a new custom external identity provider supporting OpenID Connect, SAML or WSFed. Learn more

But the only options appear to be SAML or WS-Fed.

SAML/WS-FedAdd an identity provider supports the SAML 2.0 or WS-Fed protocol.

Please if someone knows how to configure this, that would be very helpful.

I Understand that you are trying to create a custom external identity provider supporting OpenID Connect in Microsoft Entra External ID. While the console suggests that it is possible, it appears that the only options available are SAML or WS-Fed.   

As of now, Microsoft Entra External Identities does not allow you to create a custom external identity provider with OpenID Connect for external tenants. This means you cannot use OIDC with external users through Entra External Identities, despite the console hinting that it is possible. 

The console might show options to add identity providers using SAML and WS-Fed, which are supported for external tenants. However, OpenID Connect (OIDC) support is not currently included in this list for external identities.
