We want to enable WebSignin in Windows.

However, WebSignIn succeeds on my device, but fails on others' devices.

On the device that fails, when I try to sign in by selecting the globe icon on the OS sign-in screen, the browser does not appear and I am returned to the OS sign-in screen. There is no problem with the network.

I suspect that this may be a problem with 24H2, but does anyone know?

The issue you're experiencing with the browser not appearing after selecting the globe icon for Web sign-in could be related to several factors. Since Web sign-in is dependent on internet connectivity and specific configurations, here are some considerations:

    1. OS Version Compatibility: You mentioned that the successful device is running version 10.0.22631.4169, while the failing devices are on versions 10.0.26100.1742 and 10.0.26100.2033. It's possible that there are differences in how these versions handle Web sign-in, especially if there were updates or changes in the later versions.
    2. Cached Credentials: Web sign-in does not support cached credentials. If the device is offline or if there are issues with the network that are not immediately apparent, it could lead to the behavior you're seeing.
    3. Configuration Issues: Ensure that the devices are properly configured for Web sign-in. This includes checking that they meet the prerequisites for using Web sign-in, such as being Microsoft Entra joined and having the necessary licenses.
    4. Identity Provider (IdP) Settings: Since you are using another IdP linked with WS-Fed, ensure that the configuration for this IdP is correctly set up on the failing devices. Any discrepancies in the IdP settings could prevent the browser from launching.
    5. Known Issues: There may be known issues with specific versions of Windows that affect Web sign-in functionality. It's worth checking for any updates or patches that might address this problem.

If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance, especially if it seems to be related to specific OS versions.
