Hi All,

My customer has SCCM server managing windows servers as clients in domain A at one geographic location. Customer has another SCCM server in domain B at another geographic location. Both domain A and domain B has full trust, two way trust

We have to move the windows servers from domain A SCCM to domain B SCCM server.

We have created new boundaries and boundary groups in domain B SCCM server. Configured pre-requisites for client push. Pushed Domain B SCCM client on windows servers. Client got install but after some time its greyed out. After checking logs on windows servers found that SCCM client pushed from domain B SCCM server connected to domain A MP. We have suggested customer to remove windows server boundaries from domain A SCCM server boundary group. Customer is not agreed to remove boundaries from domain A SCCM server.

Customer asked to removed the old domain (domain A) entries from windows servers.

I wanted to know,

  • Is there any old entries exists on windows servers for domain A SCCM server,
  • Do I really need to remove domain A SCCM entries from windows servers,
  • Is there a way to remove domain A SCCM entries from windows servers
  • Will that removing boundaries from domain A SCCM server boundary group will work

Please suggest any other option.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

==>Pushed Domain B SCCM client on windows servers.

This may be due to overlapped boundaries and boundary group. If you use that and they overlap clients will enroll perhaps end up enrolling in the wrong site. We cannot manage a client with two different SCCM sites at the same time.

Your suggestion to remove windows server boundaries from domain A SCCM server boundary group is absolutely correct, and I also recommend doing this to avoid incorrect site assignment. Per my experience, removing boundaries from domain A SCCM server boundary group should work for your scenario.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon
