Getting pin and unpin options on taskpane page of Add in App

I am reaching out regarding an issue I'm facing with my Taskpane Add-In. Despite not having provided any <pinnable> field in the manifest, I'm seeing an option to pin the Add-In on certain user accounts. However, on other accounts with the same manifest and within the same tenant, the pin option is not appearing.

Details:

The Add-In works correctly for multiple users within the same tenant.

The manifest does not contain any <pinnable> field or configuration for pinning the Add-In to the ribbon or task pane.

In some user accounts, I see an option to pin the Add-In, but in others, the option does not appear.

My Request:

Could you help me understand why this pin option is appearing even though the manifest doesn't include any relevant configurations for pinning?

I would appreciate your guidance on how to remove the pin icon from my Taskpane Add-In, as I do not want users to have the option to pin it.

I would be grateful for any insights or steps to resolve this issue. Please let me know if you require further information or clarification.

Thank you for your assistance.shared image (2)

    Hi @M. R. Chaturvedi

    Welcome to our forum!

It looks like your question is more related to Outlook development, please understand the general problem that Outlook tabs are focused on the client, and don't know much about development, the following is just for reference.

As far as I know, the pin option in Outlook Task pane Add-Ins is typically controlled by the manifest file. However, there are certain scenarios where the pin option might appear even if it's not explicitly configured. For instance, in Outlook on the web and the new Outlook on Windows, the task pane of an add-in that implements the item multi-select feature is automatically pinned to the Outlook client.

More information, see: Implement a pinnable task pane in Outlook.

By the way, you can get more professional advice on issues related to developing add-ins under this Office Development tab. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
