Which Entra licence is required to assign groups to application roles?

I have application roles that I can assign to users.

But it says that I need a licence upgrade to be able to assign application roles to a group.
I have a trial of Entra P2, but that doesn't seem to make any difference.

Would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction to which Entra licence I require.

    Hello @John Christini,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A.

Based on your description, I understand that you have an Entra P2 license in your tenant. If the P2 license is active and assigned to your tenant, it provides the necessary permissions to assign application roles to a group, along with access to all the services included in Entra ID with a P2 license.

I would like to confirm if the trial P2 license is still active in your tenant. Please verify this on the Overview page of Entra ID.

Could you also share a screenshot of the error message you’re encountering in the Azure Portal when trying to assign application roles to a group? Additionally, please confirm if the error message matches the one shown in the screenshot below.User's image
