Hi all,

Recently I have set up a Pay-as-you-go Dev/test subscription for my company. Currently, one of my coworkers is the owner of the subscription. However, for administrative reasons we would prefer a scenario where the subscription is owned by a general/administrative company account. That way we don't have to transfer ownership of the subscription in the future, when the coworker no longer works for the company.

The problem is that the administrative company account doesn't have a Visual Studio license connected to it (and preferably we would not want to waste a license on an account that doesn't use it), thus it cannot take ownership of the subscription.

What could be possible solutions for this scenario?

    1. Transfer Billing Ownership:
      • Current owner: Azure portal > Subscriptions > Select subscription > Transfer billing ownership > Enter admin account email.
    2. Assign Roles:
      • Assign the administrative account as a Co-Administrator or Owner to manage the subscription without needing a Visual Studio license.
