Hello. I have an S3 AI Search service. I created it before March, so it has only 200GB. I looked at my indexes and I added up all the Total Storage Size values, and I got 170GB. However, in my metrics it says that my service is using 196 GB. Where is that extra 26 GB being used? Why am I paying for 200 GB and only getting 170 GB?

@Tyler Suard as a reminder, if you recently deleted a large amount of data (e.g., 26GB), it’s possible that the data hasn’t been fully removed yet. By design, deleted data may initially become unallocated but not immediately erased, as the regular deletion process can take some days to complete.

To confirm if this is the case and determine whether further assistance is needed, we recommend logging a support case so we can investigate their service directly.

You can create a support request following the steps outlined here: How to create an Azure support request.

    Best,
