Hi,

I am preparing migration of Windows 10 to Windows 11 24H2 in my company.

I will use an in place upgrade operating system Task Sequence.

My question is how to prevent the user clicking on restart computer or triggers an action that restart the computer during running of an in-place upgrade OS task sequence.

I want to secure the deployment by avoiding any restart that cause the task sequence to fail.

Any idea or a solution to help me ?

Thanks a lot.

Kind regards,

Izanagi

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

1,==>My question is how to prevent the user clicking on restart computer or triggers an action that restart the computer during running of an in-place upgrade OS task sequence.

By default, the restart action in the in-place upgrade task sequence is non interactive, which means that users do not have a button or similar thing to click to restart the computer.

2,==>I want to secure the deployment by avoiding any restart that cause the task sequence to fail.

The default restart action during the in-place upgrade task sequence will not cause the task sequence to fail, the task sequence will continue and complete the subsequent tasks after restarting.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon
