Why are my custom actions printing instead of doing what they're designed to do?

When I manually select a list item and try to execute a custom action, the custom action that is visible on the ribbon (like the "DENY" button shown in my first photo) no longer operates as intended. Instead, it opens the print dialog (see photo 3). Interestingly, this is the same function as the adjacent "Item Print" button—coincidence?

However, if the custom action I want to use is not directly visible on the ribbon (such as "APPROVE" or "DEPLOY" in my second photo), it works correctly.

I've tried deleting and recreating the custom actions, but the issue persists. Whichever custom action is placed next to the "Item Print" button and remains visible (without using the dropdown) attempts to print instead of executing its proper function.

I haven’t made any changes to my site or list, but I did notice a different UI, suggesting a Microsoft update. Could this recent update be causing the issue? For reference, my fourth photo shows the expected behavior of the custom action, which should display a different screen instead of triggering the print dialog.

Thoughts or advice?

    Hi @Aubrey,

Per my research, this issue should be some issue with sharepoint backend. Since our forum doesn't have access to the backend update. I would recommend you to report the issue on Service health. This is a place dedicated to solving backend problems.
