MICROSOFT AUTHENTICATOR

I am unable to sign in to my account because I can't access the verification code on my phone. I used the Microsoft Authenticator app, but the account linked to the app was deleted, and I don't have a backup. The only two-step verification options are "Approve a request on my Microsoft Authenticator App" or receiving a code via the Microsoft Authenticator app. Is there another way to sign in, or can I remove this authentication method?

I’ve been going through a rabbit hole trying to get into contact with someone without logging in. My admin account I cannot login without the Authenticator but yet when I try to follow a link to get into contact with someone it tells me to sign in. Can I get a direct email or contact for support with this issue. It’s costing my business money.

If you are unable to access the Microsoft Authenticator app and the account linked to it has been deleted, you may need to reset your multi-factor authentication (MFA) settings. Since you do not have access to the verification code or the app, you can try the following options:

    1. Contact Support: Reach out to your organization's IT support or Microsoft support for assistance. They can help you reset your MFA settings or provide alternative verification methods.
    2. Alternative Recovery Options: If you set up alternative recovery options (like a backup email or phone number), you may be able to use those to regain access to your account.
    3. Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR): If your organization has enabled SSPR, you might be able to reset your password and reconfigure your authentication methods.

Unfortunately, without access to the Microsoft Authenticator app or a backup, you may not be able to remove the authentication method on your own.
