Hi,

I have tired to Upgrade my SCCM 2403 with (KB28204160). It takes a long time to upgrade. during the Upgrade and installation, I saw on the "Post Installation" step the following warning

"[Completed with warning]:Installing SMS_HIERARCHY_MANAGER component on Site Server. Check sitecomp.log and smsexec.log for details."

I have checked the both above Log files .

  • sitecomp.log SMS-MP-DOS-SCCM.lange.COM could not be updated, error code = 5.

SMS-MP-DOS-SCCM.lange.COM could not be updated (using SMSv1 Schema), error code = 5.

I have checked the Active Directory Forests on the SCCM Admin Console

Is that the issue for the Warning?

If Yes, What should I do?

Have I add the Computer account on the System Management in ADSI--->Security?

    Hi,

    Much appreciate for your information.

1,Could we get more useful information if we click Show messages button for the warning SMS_HIERARCHY_MANAGER component?

2,==>What do you mean with "Computer Account" on the Tab Security? Do you mean the name of my SCCM Computer Name?

Yes, you are right. It is the site server computer account, as shown in my lab. We can also add a domain admin account here to have a try.

    site server account

Hope it helps. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

    Hi,

    Hope everything is going well.

1,Please help verify the SMS_HIERARCHY_MANAGER component under \Monitoring\Overview\System Status\Component Status. Is it in critical status or OK status?

2,Let us launch ADSIEdit.msc to check if the site server computer account is in Security tab of System Management Container and has appropriate permission. Also verify whether the site details such as MP, Site, Boundary objects are published in AD forest or not.

3,May we know what's the site hierarchy? Is there any secondary site?

    Best regards,

    Simon
