I use MARS agent to backup my onsite server. That server is hung up, but it appears the backup is running based on logs I see at portal.azure.com. Can I browse the backed up data online at my Azure account?

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

The MARS agent is designed to back up files, folders, and system state from on-premises systems to Azure, storing them in a Recovery Services vault. However, this vault does not provide a file browsing interface for viewing individual files or folders within the backups directly through the Azure portal

To access or restore your backed-up data, you would typically need to perform a restore operation using the MARS agent installed on your server:

    • If your server is operational, you can use the MARS agent to initiate a restore operation. This allows you to select specific files or folders to restore from your backup
    • While you can manage backup policies and view backup job statuses through the Azure portal, browsing individual files within backups is not supported directly from the portal
    • If your server is hung up and you cannot access it directly, consider setting up a new server with the MARS agent configured to connect to your Recovery Services vault. From there, you can perform a restore operation to retrieve necessary data.
