We're seeing the following error in the Event Viewer logs:

"SQL database login for 'SharePoint_Config' on instance 'dbserver' failed. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below. Login failed for user 'domain\machinename$'."

Despite trying to resolve it by adjusting the Timer Service, Application Pool, and all SharePoint services, we still face this issue. The error stops when we turn off the Microsoft Monitoring Service.

We've been working on this problem for over a week, and no solution has worked yet.

Our Setup:

  • SharePoint Servers:
    • Application with search.
    • Front-end with distributed cache.
    • SQL is separate.

Has anyone faced this issue before, and what steps did you take to resolve it?

Hi @Sudhir Singare ,Welcome to Q&A forum!

It seems that this should be a problem with account permissions. This error is very common. I found some related posts for your reference:

    Non-official, just for reference.

    Hope these can help.

    Good day!
