Encountered a strange behavior in two separate SharePoint lists while using a (different) site column containing managed metadata. When adding new items to the list in grid view and entering a value in the managed metadata column, the value unexpectedly changes to an unknown value after completing the entry. This unknown value is not found in any term set.

The Termstore Value is display as Unknown after you exit grid edit view? Are you using SharePoint Online or Server?

I apologise for my late reaction but I lost track of this question. I'm using SharePoint Online and experienced this behaviour on two or three occasions.
I don't know if it is already resolved, but I did not find any answer to this moment.
