Is Searching files/ folders in the OneDrive Folder possible when that folder is opened through the link

There is an issue with search functionality that we observed in the OneDrive.

Generally, to search a file/ folder in OneDrive, we open the OneDrive for Web and search the particular file and we get the results.

In our case, We opened a OneDrive folder using link, first we copied the link to the one of the folders like below,

https://<domain>/:f:/r/personal/<userprofile>/Documents/2024?csf=1&web=1&e=

and pasted it in the new browser tab and opened it. But the search is not working here.

I want to know if it is an expected behavior in search functionality. Please check the screenshot attached with the error page.

Thank you for posting in this community.

After my testing, the situation is the same as you described, even if I grant the “Full control” permission via grant permission. it is still not possible to search.

12/17/2023 , A change is rolling out a change in Microsoft 365 Search to make sure search results are consistent with what users perceive as private content.

If you are experiencing issues with search not returning results while accessing a folder via a link, it is likely an expected behavior of the search functionality in OneDrive.
