How to cancel a running workflow in MS Teams?

Environment & Actions

MS Teams version 24295.606.3238.6194 for Mac (or equivalent for Windows and Web).

Added the (provided) workflows "Schedule a message" and "Schedule a reply" to my account.

Scheduled a message for tomorrow via workflow.

The workflow shows under 28-day run history with Status = 'running'.

Questions

  1. Can I stop/cancel/delete this running workflow? How?
  2. If not, can the workflow be edited to make cancelling possible? How?

Example Use-case

Sally schedules a message to the "Important" Channel of our "Entire-staff" Team for tomorrow morning reminding us all that a VIP, Tracy, will be in the office all day.

Tracy cancels due to weather.

Sally could schedule another message: "ignore the previous message" – but that's icky.

Better (both cleaner and less confusing) to kill the running workflow, then schedule a single message with the updated schedule.

P.S. / Feature Request

Chats provide native scheduling which allows modifying scheduled messages. If MS Teams supported the same feature for Channel discussions, we wouldn't need these two workflows.

If anyone on the Teams team at Microsoft is listening, please add another +1 to this feature request: "Please add the ability to send Scheduled messages to Channels." https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/c33f964b-9b37-ee11-a81c-6045bdbbbc93

Robin – thanks for the reply and the additional tag.

I'm not on the MS admin team and have never logged into Power Automate. I don't even know if I have permission to the product, much less what to do if I could log in.

I found the "Schedule a Reply" workflow in the library of pre-built workflows available in MS Teams. One of our IT folks created the "Schedule a Message" workflow, which is very similar, and sent me a copy to install on my Teams account. I just clicked the link and then a button to install.

From the workflows tool within Teams I am able to edit the workflow (definition) and deactivate it to prevent further use. But I'm not able to stop/cancel the specific instance of the workflow that's still running.

    All the best...
