I'm having trouble figuring out where my "Microsoft Developer Tools" costs are incurring on my account

I am running multiple app services (SWA), web app and an Api management service. I can't seem to see where the bulk of my costs are incurring and how I can minimize as much as possible. I do not require additional dev tools as my project is finished.

    Hello Jon Holmberg,

    Thanks for your question

    • Go to the Azure Portal.
    • Search for Cost Management + Billing.
    • Select Cost Analysis.

You can then filter by your resources. To review which resources are causing billing, see steps here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/understand/review-individual-bill?source=recommendations

You can also create a billing request here for free: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/create-ticket. In the link you need to ensure you are selecting a billing type of ticket. This service is completely free and they will assist you in identifying why or assessing the situation.

You can mark it 'Accept Answer' and 'Upvote' if this helped you

    Regards,

    Abiola

    Hi @Jon Holmberg

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform! Thank you for asking your question here.

You need to have the appropriate permissions assigned to your Azure AD account. You can check if you have the required permissions by following these steps:

1.Go to the Azure portal and navigate to the Cost Management + Billing section.

2.Click on "Cost analysis" and select the appropriate time range for which you want to analyze the costs.

3.Select the appropriate scope for which you want to analyze the costs. You can select the subscription, resource group, or resource level.

4.If you see the message "You don't have access to this data", it means that you do not have the required permissions to view the cost data for the selected scope.

To get the required permissions, you can contact your Azure AD administrator and request them to assign the "Cost Management Reader" or "Cost Management Contributor" role to your Azure AD account. Once you have the required permissions, you should be able to view the cost data for your resources.

If you have any further queries, do let us know.
