Hello, To exclude an encryption error, you could disable NLA in you server side: Open gpedit.msc applet. Navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Remote Desktop Services -> Remote Desktop Session Host -> Security. Enable Require use of specific security layer for remote (RDP) connections and select RDP as Security Layer. Disable Require user authentication for remote connections by using Network Level Authentication policy. Reboot Terminal server. Im trying to RDP into Windows Server 2022 but unable to. I have tried:

What results do you get testing the RDP port?

test-netconnection servername -port 3389

PS: be sure to blurr sensitive information like ip or servername

The results for test-netconnection xx -port 3389 looks fine to me:

ComputerName : xx

RemoteAddress : xx

RemotePort : 3389

InterfaceAlias : Ethernet 3

Strange... Have you tested with a 3rd party rdp tool like MobaXterm? Could help narrow down if its connection stability or simply an issue with the service/software

Hi Chun,

Could you please try the IP address and hostname of destination?
Also , could you verify the settings as per : https://www.anyviewer.com/how-to/remote-desktop-0x904-2578.html.

I would also recommend trying another RDP tool or the updated RDP (perhaps from store)

I have tried using MobaX to do RDP. It does not seem to work as well

I have checked and validated my settings to be same with https://www.anyviewer.com/how-to/remote-desktop-0x904-2578.html.

What happens if you try immediately after restarting the RDP server

Another thing worth checking is the hardware firewalls. in most cases if test-netconnection works then its not firewall, but more and more software firewalls might allow a ping test but still drop the application traffic if there is not an "application rule" matching the exact application "RDP". seen this before with palo alto's

if you ping the host from the client, do you have a constant/steady connection? Do you see any drops?

Hello,

Thanks for your input. Currently other users under the same AD group as mine are able to RDP into the VM. I was thinking whether there are anything else I could look into from my PC end.
