Edge built in translation converting currency to pounds

This is recent behaviour I've picked up with both the desktop and mobile Edge applications.
Whenever a page with prices is displayed it converts the prices to pounds.

I don't live in the UK and I don't use pounds, so when needing to pay for stuff on foreign websites I have to constantly change between the original and translated page.

This is highly annoying seeing as I live in a non English country and rely on the translations.
I've checked in the flags page and can't see anything about currency conversion there, nor in the settings.

I tried to test the said issue in the MS Edge Version 87.0.664.66 with multiple sites and found that the inbuilt translation works fine and it is not converting the currency to the pounds.

I want to confirm with you whether the issue occurs with any specific site?

Which language you had added as your preferred language in the Edge browser? (You can find it under edge://settings/languages)

Which version of the Edge browser on your desktop and on your mobile device you are using?

If the site is available publically and if it is possible for you, can you share the site address? so that we can test the issue on our side.

Kindly provide the above-mentioned information that may help to narrow down the issue.

I have tried to visit your site in the Edge browser version 107 but I am not able to reproduce the issue.

I would like to confirm with you whether I missed any step?

Hi Deepak,

Yes, it is reproducing in your animated GIF. You can see that the dollar sign ($) in the original HTML does not have the characters "US"; the $ is used in other countries like Canada that have a totally separate currency from USA/USD. But the translation is changing the $ to "US$".

This is the same issue as the conversion to pounds in the original post. The translation is assuming a native currency when the currency is actually generic.

From the other thread, I got your point regarding the said issue.

I will try to provide the feedback internally. Further, you could also submit feedback regarding this issue by pressing ALT + SHIFT + I key in the Edge browser.

If you navigate to edge://settings/languages , you may disable translator , so it won't auto-translate.
There is no option to manually change this change , it is like translate everything or not do auto-translate.
However, you may click on top right corner of Microsoft Edge and click on ...->Help and feedback->Send feedback and report this issue and explain your scenario in details.
