Disabling users from being able to create Group chats

Hello Microsoft Team,

I have a question: how can I disable users from creating group chats while still allowing them to chat one-on-one?

I attempted to use the restricted settings, but that also disabled one-on-one chatting, which is not what I need. Could you provide a workaround for this?

Thank you for your assistance

    Hi @Mike Rodriguez

As Vasil Michev said, you can disable users from creating chats but you can't just disable users from creating group chats, this is by design in Teams.

To get this feature more quickly, you can send a feedback directly to Microsoft Feedback to add it in future updates.

Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future.

Thanks for your understanding and support.

Unfortunately, this is not currently possible. It is a common request however, so Microsoft will hopefully address it in the future. For now, best thing you can do is go vote this up over at the Feedback portal, here's an example item around the same topic: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/12b70b52-68bf-ee11-92bd-6045bd7b0481
