How to signup for Azure free student account

Question

I am trying to join Microsoft Student Ambassador and I have an issue
One of my technical training exams requires me to have an Azure account and, I am trying to sign up for Azure but I can't verify my phone number
I have been trying for the last two days but I can't sign up
can anyone help me with this my exam has a deadline

Here are some additional information:

You can use any phone number for verification as long as it meets the requirements. The phone number that you enter for verification isn't stored as a contact number for the account.

• A Voice-over-IP (VoiP) phone number can't be used for the phone verification process
• Check that your phone can receive calls or SMS messages from a United States-based telephone number.
• Double-check the phone number that you enter, including the country code that you select in the drop-down menu.
• If your phone doesn't receive text messages (SMS), try the Call me option.

Source: No verification text message or phone call

Make sure to select the right country code in the drop-down and enter the phone number without the country code.

One option might be to call Microsoft's Global Support: Global Customer Service phone numbers

Maybe they are able to help.

I've noticed a couple of questions/threads related to this issue in the past. But none of them gave an answer how to fix this or if it was fixed at all.
