Hello

My PC recently started restarting while playing games, and I am not sure what the cause is. There are many logs/errors in Event Viewer and they awlays mention GameInput Service.

The GameInput Service service terminated with the following error:

The compound file GameInput Service was produced with a newer version of storage.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello,

Here are some steps you can try:

Windows Update: Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date.

Driver Updates: Make sure all your drivers, especially graphics and chipset drivers, are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause conflicts and errors. You can update drivers via Device Manager.

Service Restart: The error message indicates that the GameInput Service is terminating unexpectedly. You can try restarting the service manually:

Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

Locate the GameInput Service, right-click on it, and select Restart.

Check for Corrupted Files: Run the System File Checker to check for and repair corrupted system files:

Open Command Prompt as an administrator.

Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
