Microsoft Any Plan to announced a latest release timeline for a new version of Exchange Server (such as a "2025" release)
Hi,
I am currently using Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 On Prem. My question is that, is there any confirmed plan for a latest release timeline for a new version of On-Prem Exchange Server (such as a "2025" release), as Exchange 2019 On prem will be end of life after October 2025, I am not considering to move to the cloud solution .i.e. Exchange Online Solutions.
Looking forward.

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform!
Yes, there is a confirmed plan for the next version of the on-premises Exchange Server. Microsoft has announced that the next release, called Exchange Server Subscription Edition (Exchange Server SE), will be available in the early part of the third quarter of 2025. This new version will require Server and CAL licenses and will be accessible only to customers with Software Assurance.
Additionally, there will be a final Cumulative Update (CU15) for Exchange Server 2019 in the second half of 2024, which will introduce new features and changes to support the release of Exchange Server SE.

2025-01-15T04:42:20.7033333+00:00 Yes, you're right. Microsoft is set to release Microsoft Exchange Server SE (Subscription Edition) in the third quarter of 2025, to meet the needs of on-premises customers. This new version will follow a subscription-based model, similar to SharePoint Server Subscription Edition. It will require either subscription licenses or active Software Assurance (SA) licenses, as well as user licenses. With the subscription, customers will receive updates, security patches, and support.
If you're not considering moving to the cloud, you’ll have the option to continue with this new On-Premises version once it's available.
