Unable to Create AVD Session Hosts in Sweden Central After Deleting Previous Hosts

I am encountering an issue where I cannot create Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) session hosts in the Sweden Central region anymore. I was previously able to run AVD session hosts in Sweden Central without any problems. However, after deciding to recreate them, I deleted the old session hosts along with their associated resource group. Since then, Sweden Central (along with some other regions) is not available when I try to create session hosts anymore. I know that Sweden Central is not available for creating the host pool, but the virtual machines should still be.

Interestingly, I can still create regular virtual machines in Sweden Central without any issues.

In one of my other Azure tenants, I am able to create AVD session hosts in Sweden Central without any problems.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have insights into why this might be happening? Any advice or guidance would be appreciated!

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

    To resolve this issue:

    • Attempt to create the host pool in a supported metadata region and then add session hosts, explicitly selecting Sweden Central as the VM region
    • If that doesn't work, try using PowerShell or Azure CLI to create the session hosts, which might bypass any UI-related issues.
    • Contact Azure support if the problem persists, as they can check for any account-specific restrictions or regional issues affecting your deployment.
