Hello,

I created an in-place upgrade Task Sequence to migrate devices from Windows 10 to Windows 11. The Task Sequence is available in the Software Center for users, and it works as expected !

However, after the second reboot, the device prompts the user to enter the BitLocker PIN code at startup. This causes delays for users, especially when they start the migration process before leaving the office and return the next day, only to find they still need to wait an additional 20 minutes to complete the process.

I think there might be a way to temporarily remove or bypass the BitLocker PIN during the migration process ? Could you kindly provide guidance on how to achieve this?

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Kind regards, Izanagi

    Hi, @Izanagi76

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

To temporarily bypass the BitLocker PIN during the in-place upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, you may modify your Task Sequence to disable BitLocker before the upgrade process and then re-enable it afterward.

The general outline of the steps you can take:

    1. Disable BitLocker: Add a step to disable BitLocker before the upgrade process begins.
    2. Upgrade to Windows 11: Proceed with your in-place upgrade Task Sequence.
    3. Enable BitLocker: After the upgrade is complete, add a step to enable BitLocker again.
