Hello,

I’m encountering an issue while trying to verify my phone number during the signup process for my Microsoft account. After entering my phone number, I receive the following error message:

“We’re unable to validate your phone number. Phone validation is required to confirm your identity and complete signup.”

I’ve ensured that I’m entering the correct number, including the proper country code (+91 for India), and I’ve double-checked that my phone is receiving SMS messages. However, I still can’t complete the verification process.

I’ve also tried clearing my browser cache, using a different browser, and waiting before attempting again, but the issue persists.

I am currently located in India and would appreciate any assistance in resolving this matter.

Thank you for your support!

    Hi @Pixelvide ,

if you have problems with the phone validation in the Azure Account creation process please take a look here: Identity verification by phone

    Here are some additional information:

You can use any phone number for verification as long as it meets the requirements. The phone number that you enter for verification isn't stored as a contact number for the account.

    • A Voice-over-IP (VoiP) phone number can't be used for the phone verification process
    • Check that your phone can receive calls or SMS messages from a United States-based telephone number.
    • Double-check the phone number that you enter, including the country code that you select in the drop-down menu.
    • If your phone doesn't receive text messages (SMS), try the Call me option.

Source: No verification text message or phone call

Make sure to select the right country code in the drop-down and enter the phone number without the country code.

One option might be to call Microsoft's Global Support: Global Customer Service phone numbers

Maybe they are able to help.

Another option might be to give it a try with using a smartphone or a different device and a "private/incognito window" of the browser to get the registration/validation done.

I've noticed a couple of questions/threads related to this issue in the past. But none of them gave an answer how to fix this or if it was fixed at all.
