I am encountering an issue while trying to create a new Azure subscription. Despite multiple attempts using various methods, I am unable to validate my phone number. Below are the details of the issue:

Issue Details:

  • Error Message: "We’re unable to validate your phone number. Phone validation is required to confirm your identity and complete signup."
    • Session ID: b5214fb5-4dbb-4ecd-9767-2e68a9a8d2f0
      • Timestamp UTC: 1/24/2025 5:25:30 PM
      Steps Attempted to Resolve:
      - Verified the phone number is active and capable of receiving SMS/calls.

         - Tried different browsers (Chrome, Edge, and Incognito mode).

            - Attempted on mobile browsers and desktop devices.

               - Used a VPN to bypass potential regional restrictions.

                  - Cleared browser cache and cookies.

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. I’ve attached screenshots for your reference.

Attachments:

  • Screenshot 1: Identity verification page with entered phone number.
  • Screenshot 2: Error message after submitting the phone number.

    Hi Santhosh,
Thank you for contacting us from the Microsoft Q&A forum.

To resolve issues related to phone validation during the Azure account creation process, we recommend the following steps:

1.Try Using a Mobile Device: Some customers have resolved their issues by trying the same process from a smartphone browser. If you haven't already, consider using your mobile device to see if that helps.

2.Check Phone Number Requirements: Ensure that the phone number you are using for verification meets the necessary requirements. Note that Voice-over-IP (VoIP) numbers cannot be used for this process. Make sure your phone can receive calls or SMS messages from a United States-based number, and double-check the phone number you entered, including the correct country code.

3.Troubleshooting Resources: For detailed troubleshooting steps, please refer to this guide: Troubleshoot Azure Sign-Up.

4.Contact Customer Support: If you continue to experience issues, we recommend contacting Microsoft Support directly. You can find the customer service phone numbers specific to your country here: Global Customer Service Phone Numbers. When you speak with a representative, inform them that you are unable to validate your phone number, and they will create a support ticket and escalate your case to the Azure Subscription/Account Review team.

5.Creating a Support Ticket: Alternatively, you can create a support ticket through the Azure portal by following these instructions: Create Azure Support Request. If you have access to a different tenant, you can also create a support ticket from there.
