Hello, we have the intermittent RDP connection issue at work (I'm an IT support agent in my company). Some colleagues and myself too had this issue and the only solution I've found to resolve it was to uninstall two updates.

These two are the bad guys:

    • KB5049622
    • KB5050094

I had also to suspend Windows Updates due to the automatic reinstall and suddently return of the updates and the issue along. Hope this workaround could help.
PS: If you can't find in the uninstallable list is beacause you have to uninstall other updates first.

Once rebooted the issue is gone.

Edit: since many of my colleagues had these issues after I posted the answer, and I can't stop so many employees from working, I told my users to use the RDP app from Microsoft Store and it works fine even on fully updated clients. I'm pretty sure there's something that's preventing mstsc.exe or its dependencies from working properly. I've seen this solution on another thread, didn't even knew there were an RDP app from MSstore.

The same problem here.... all Win11 (24H2) after last update where new "design" of RDP bar comes, have a drops issues. Cca every minute our RDP connection is disconnected for 10 seconds.

It is on more PCs, with more different RDP connections (different servers). Ping is all right.

(also 3rd part application RDP have now the same symptons mRemoteNG )

    It is getting us crazy.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

To further troubleshoot this issue, please kindly try below steps:

1.Open RDP client and go to Settings > Display and adjust resolution or color depth.

    2.Clear RDP client cache

Open RDP session > go to "Computer" field > drop down to show the saved connection > right-click to delete saved connection.

    3.Restart the RDP service

Press "Win+R", enter "services.msc" and look for "Remote Desktop Services" and right-click to restart the service.

4.To narrow down the issue, meanwhile please check if this issue occurs on other RDP clients.

To help other customers who may be facing the same issue, please don't forget to vote if the reply is helpful.

    Best Regards

    Zunhui
