Windows Mail and Calendar apps not working

Does anyone know if the server is down? Or Microsoft is doing current maintenance to the server?

Because the windows mail and calendar apps keep crashing every time I open them. They were working fine until 2 days ago. But last night and today they just keep crashing for no reason.
Everything is up to date even the apps.

Please advise anyone

Thanks

I'm having the same problem, I can read a couple of emails from my AT&T yahoo account and then it wont' display any further emails, and if I click on a gmail account it crashes entirely. Just started happening on Tuesday, no windows updates on that day, or within 2 weeks prior to that either. If I click on any of the accounts in the Manage accounts section, I just get a black box in the middle of the screen with no account info. My accounts consist of 3 sbcglobal.net accounts (AT&T Yahoo) and 5 gmail accounts.

So, I want to confirm with you that what kind of mailbox that you used? Exchange, Outlook.com, Gmail or mailbox from other mail server? I would suggest you have a check whether is your mail server running correctly(Such as login your mailbox in webmail or other client)?

If there doesn't exist issue with your mail server, it means that there exist something wrong with your computer. You could check from the UWP team.

    Hi Kyle

I don't think it is the mail server because my mailboxes work fine in the Outlook app, but not in the Mail app from Windows. I have an SP7.

I have 2 Gmail (1 personal, 1 for school) and 1 Outlook accounts. I tried resetting the app, then uninstalling and installing it again and yet to no avail.

    @Diego Nuñez

Since there exist Google in Mail App, it means this type of mailbox is supported:

I could configure Gmail mailbox in Mail App successfully:

There doesn't exist issue with Gmail server. If you cannot configure Gmail account in your computer. I think maybe your country bans the Gmail service, or the software on your computer prevents your access.

This tag only supported for Exchange related question. Since your question doesn't related with Exchange, you may need to confirm from the UWP client teams for more detail information.

    anonymous userXu-MSFT

Right, the US has banned gmail and all of our computers coincidentally had this one app stop functioning correctly last week at the same time due to some other software issue on our computers completely unrelated to the one app that isn't working.

Now for how I fixed mine....
I deleted the app and reinstalled it and it had deleted all the gmail accounts on its own accord. I added them back and they worked. I think the key may be to go start, type Email & Accounts and then delete the accounts from there and then add them back from email and calendar.
