Excel cannot print anymore, the other apps can

Question

We have a Windows 10 Home edition.

Office 365 is installed with the user who has a business standard license.

Word, Outlook, .... works fine. And the user can print from the apps. The printer is located in the same lan.

If we do the same in Excel we get a strange behaviour. I can work in Excel. I can ctrl+P and choose the same printer which works with Word, notepad and more.

But all we get in Excel is a little popup which is telling us that the doc will be printed but that message stays on the screen and all we can do is clicking away that popu and close Excel via taskmanager.

Solutions that didin't work.

I repaired the Office product. I sign off from all the Office applications and logged on again. I removed all the Office applications and reinstalled it with the 365 user that has the business standard 365 license. Word, Excel, ... all are logged on again.

Word can print, Excel can't.

What can I do more?

Do you mean that all Excel workbooks cannot be printed normally?

• You may go to Page Layout > Page Setup > Print Area > Clear Print Area.

As Viorel suggested, please use “Microsoft Print to PDF” for a check.

If you still have the same issue using the virtual printer above, I suggest you run Excel in safe mode and test printing.

• You can press and hold on Ctrl key, double-click one Excel workbook until its asks if you want to start it in safe mode, then please release Ctrl key and click "Yes".
• If you can print normally in safe mode, the issue may be caused by the Excel COM add-in. Please click File > Options > Add-ins > Manage COM Add-ins, click "Go". Clear the check boxes for any enabled COM add-ins, select OK.

If safe mode does not work, it's recommended to right-click on the Excel icon, run Excel app as administrator. Then browse and open one Excel file for a check.

Besides, I suggest you perform an Online Repair for your Office in Control Pannel.

To work around the problem until it is fixed, try to select the “Microsoft Print to PDF” printer in Print window, and maybe also click the “Printer Properties” and select the paper. If printing to file works, open the created PDF file in File Explorer and print it.
