I have just learnt that i-5 7300U CPU 2.6 ghz isn't supported to run Windows 11. However, my laptop has the same specs but is running Windows 11 with following details

Edition Windows 11 Pro

Version 22H2

Installed on ‎9/‎24/‎2024

OS build 22621.4317

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1041.0

I am puzzled how both of these things can be true...has my vendor done something which enabled this installation?

PS: I kept getting the updates until recently but now the system is giving messages that get the newer version of Windows to stay up to date. It was due to this message that I installed PC Health Check and came to know that this processor isn't supposed to run Windows 11 being 7th generation

    Hi,

This is because if the PC passes the other requirements like TPM and Secure boot, Windows 11 can be installed without a problem, with a disclaimer that updates might be stopped. That being said, your issue of not getting update is different.

Let us try upgrading to 24H2, the latest feature update.

    Download Windows 11

    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/Windows11

Use the Installation Assistant to Download Windows 11

Alternatively, download an ISO file and Run Setup.exe to Start the Upgrade, using Windows 11 Media Creation Tool.

All the steps, including MCT and Installation Assistant, are covered here:

I hope that helps, and keep us posted.
