Hello Paul Russo,
Thank You for reaching out to Q&A.
You can manage billing contacts and invoice notifications in Azure through the Azure Portal. Here's how:
1. Manage Billing Contacts (Who Gets Invoice Notifications)
Steps:
- Sign in to the Azure Portal.
- Go to Cost Management + Billing.
- Select Billing profiles under the Billing section.
- Click on your Billing Profile.
- Under Settings, select Invoice recipients.
- Click Add recipient or Edit existing contacts.
- Enter the email addresses of people who should receive invoice notifications.
- Click Save.
🔹 Note: Only users with Billing Account Contributor or Billing Profile Owner roles can modify invoice recipients.
2. Add or Change Billing Administrators
If you need to change who manages billing, follow these steps:
- Go to Cost Management + Billing in the Azure Portal.
- Select Billing scopes → Billing account.
- Click Access Control (IAM).
- Click Add role assignment.
- Choose Billing Reader, Billing Contributor, or Owner.
- Assign the role to the appropriate user.
- Click Save.
3. Set Up Email Notifications for New Invoices
Azure automatically sends invoices to billing contacts. However, if you need to set up additional notifications:
- In the Azure Portal, go to Cost Management + Billing.
- Click Billing Profiles → Select your billing profile.
- Under Settings, click Emails.
- Add the emails of people who should be notified when a new invoice is generated.
- Click Save.
4. Verify Invoice Notifications
- Check your junk/spam folder if invoices aren't arriving.
- Ensure the correct email addresses are listed under invoice recipients.
- If notifications aren’t working, confirm the user has the correct billing permissions.
