Tutorial need for WSUS APIs to Create Custom Reports

HI,

We are using windows 2012 server for wsus. Now we have planned to create separate computer group for Work from home users in the WSUS server. We need to create custom report for particular computer group every month with approved updated percentage wise. is it possible to create the reports using windows API. I don't aware of the sql scripts. Work from users are connected our WSUS server through VPN access. Kindly advise and provide step by step tutorial. I am new in the WSUS domain.

    Hi Rita,

    One more quires, is there any best option to implement patch updates for Permanent Work from users over VPN.
    We have already implemented as same like office environment and GPO applied as daily sync with WSUS server to the client. but most of the PWFH clients not sync automatically and downloaded the patches through our WSUS server via VPN. every time our IT engineers action required for manual update. Please guide us if any best option is there using our WSUS server.

    Hi saravanapauls-3857,

    I researched many articles and tested it in my lab environment. There is no such script which could achieve this feature. But we could check the installation status and install Percentage on the WSUS console. Please refer to the below picture:

    Tick the options on the WSUS console:

    In addition, the WSUS in-build report could make this feature come turn. Please refer to the below picture to create the report:

    Also I will research other scripts to see whether this issue will be resolved or not. In my opinion, WSUS did not have the other report except the in-build report. I will test the PowerShell script by others in my environment first. If there are any updates, I will inform you at once.

    Hi Rita,

    Thanks for your response and valuable time . We have already using the above mentioned options.
    But as per our management requirement those option not given the full filled data's. So that i have raised the queries in this forum. Any how we will check and update if any solution figured out.
