Does activating Defender for Identity cause a restart?

I have a few domain controllers that are available to be activated as a new Defender for Identity sensor via Microsoft Defender Cloud settings. I was wondering if doing so will cause the server to go through a reboot sequence or is that not necessary.

    A reboot is not required

Not in my experience - relatively few tasks that involve sensor management require OS restart - as per https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/defender-for-identity/troubleshooting-known-issues
