Outlook Shared Mailbox Calendar gets "could not be updated" in Outlook only (not OWA)

We have set up a shared mailbox and set the mailbox's calendar so that the 'Default' user has Reviewer permissions, then added some users as Owners to post to it. This calendar is meant to show events for the entire organization.

When a non-owner opens the calendar in OWA, it loads correctly and shows events. However, when opening in Outlook we get "could not be updated".

I've checked to make sure that Outlook has the advanced calendar option turned on, and that the permissions are correct on the calendar.

Anyone know what must be done to resolve this issue?
