Move File Share from Hyper-V Cluster Role to a VM

I currently have a file share from one of the LUNs in my shared storage device that I am sharing using the Hyper-V Cluster File Share roll. I'd like to remove this roll and instead attach the file share to one of my Hyper-V VMs and share it through the VM so that the file share is not running on my Cluster Host Nodes. Has anyone done this? Or can anyone offer advice for the best process to do this in order to retain all of the share settings, etc.?

    Hi Joe,

    Hope you're doing well.

As far as I know, it is possible to move the file share from the Hyper-V Cluster File Share role to a Hyper-V VM.

Due to the simultaneous involvement of both network and cluster components and limitations imposed by the forum, I am unable to test this process in my testing environment.

The best way is to go to the Microsoft Customer Service Center to open a Premier-level case so that with their permission level and resource, Microsoft could provide you with better help on your request.

    Best Regards
