Windows 11 won't come up after reboot

On an HP360 Envy laptop, Windows 11, asked to reboot to install update, windows would not come back up. Got Bitlocker screen, entered key and tried system repair, no luck. went through troubleshooting steps, won't roll back updates, wont even boot from my system repair USB, just keeps returning to Bitlocker screen. Don't want to lose all my apps and files. Must I wipe and reininstall, ? any options? Why did this happen?

    thank you for posting on the Microsoft Community Forums.

    To resolve this issue, you can refer to the solution in I have the Bitlocker key but it doesn't work, I can't recover it - Microsoft Community.
