I have one Windows 11 PC and two Windows 10 PC's on a home network and can access all files from the Win11 into the Win10 devices but get error "you do not have permission to access shared directories trying to access the Win11 device from the others. All shares are full control for Everyone and tried mapped drive with IP address and using other credentials with Win 11 user and pin but same error. The shared folders appear on explorer but are not accessible. I can access "Users" directory

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. Here are some steps to resolve the issue with accessing shared folders on your Windows 11 PC from Windows 10 devices:

    1. Enable Network Discovery: Ensure network discovery and file sharing are enabled under Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Advanced Sharing Settings.
    2. Check Permissions: Verify that the shared folders have full control granted to “Everyone” under both the Sharing and Security tabs.
    3. Adjust SMB Protocols: Enable SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support in the “Turn Windows features on or off” section.
    4. Clear Cached Credentials: Remove saved credentials in Credential Manager on the Windows 10 devices and re-enter the Windows 11 user account credentials.
    5. Disable Firewall Temporarily: Test access after disabling the private network firewall, and if it works, set up an inbound rule for File and Printer Sharing (SMB-In).
    6. Check Workgroup: Ensure all devices are in the same workgroup (e.g., WORKGROUP).
    7. Use IP Address: Map network drives using the Windows 11 PC’s IP address (\[IP][SharedFolder]).

Let me know if you need further assistance or clarification.

    Best regards,

I had already checked most of these areas to make sure sharing settings were correct and full control for everybody. I mapped network drive using IP address and other credentials with user and pin that enable the Win 11 PC. I enabled SMB1 which had not been done and turned off firewall temporarily. Same results with permission denied error.

Is the message permission denied or "the specified network password is not correct"?
