Dear Microsoft Support,

I am experiencing an issue with my Windows Server 2012 R2 system. My display is set to High Contrast Mode, and I am unable to change it back to Normal Mode. Despite attempting to adjust the settings, I have not been successful. Below are the details of my issue:

  • Current Mode: High Contrast Mode
  • Desired Mode: Normal Mode
  • Attempts Made:
    • Tried changing the settings via Ease of Access
    • Used the keyboard shortcut (Left Alt + Left Shift + Print Screen)
    • Attempted to change the theme through the Personalize menu

Unfortunately, none of these methods have resolved the issue. Please find the screenshot attached for your reference.

Could you please assist me in disabling High Contrast Mode and reverting to Normal Mode?

    Hello,

You can try the following steps to troubleshoot this issue:

First check that the "High Contrast" mode is turned off. Navigate to Settings > Easy of access > High Contrast. If the option has turned off, try turning on and then turning off again. Then restart the Server.

Also confirm that the account sync setting is not enabled on the Server, which may result in synchronizing high-contrast mode with other devices. Turn off sync Settings temporarily to avoid interference with Settings on other devices.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you require further assistance or have any questions.

    Best regards

    Hi Mr. Wang,

    Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, the information provided was not helpful for my issue with Windows Server 2012 R2. This version only has the Control Panel and does not include the New Style of settings interface.

As mentioned in my previous message, I'm experiencing problems with previewing themes and restoring basic mode. I suspect that some theme files might be missing, which could be causing this issue.

Could you please recheck this matter and provide the necessary link to download the missing files?

    Thank you for your assistance.
