Laptop is Bitlocked and I didn’t set it up

I’ve had my laptop (Windows 10) for a year and I’ve never had any problems with it. It’s been a few months since I’ve been on my laptop and I tried logging into it today. It said that my pin was incorrect but I know that I wouldn’t have used any other pin. Additionally pressing the “forgot my pin” button reloaded the screen but didn’t bring me anywhere else. I tried to reset it under “troubleshoot, advanced options, command prompt” but it says that my laptop is encrypted with Bitlock. This is not something that I set up.

I used the provided website to try to find the passkey on my Microsoft account but it wasn’t able to find anything on it. I have two Microsoft accounts so I went to check the second one and it’s claiming that it can’t find that account. I know it exists because I email with it constantly, but now suddenly it doesn’t seem to exist to Microsoft? Im not sure how to log back into my laptop seeing that I’ve tried multiple options. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

In my experience, the computer may automatically encrypt itself after some system changes or hardware replacement.

The only solution in this case is to reinstall the system or you can try to enter safe mode to restore the point in time.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Hania
