Hi Cobus,
unfortunately, it seems that contact the Microsoft Support team is the only way to resolve your case.

Hi, I purchased Windows Server 2019 Essentials from Microsoft Store and the server hardware failed. I had to reinstall Windows Server using the evaluation version as the link Microsoft sent me back in 2020 is no longer valid.
How do activate Windows?

Hi Cobus Pieterse,
the product key of your Windows Server 2019 Essentials should be included with the system you purchased from the Microsoft Store. You can find the key on the product packaging or on your email receipt. Then you can run the following command as an administrator in the Command Prompt to convert it to the retail version:
slmgr.vbs /ipk <your product key>
Hope it helps.
Regards,
Lei
Hi Lei,
Thank you for your response. The only email I received from Microsoft was the invoice and confirmation. I had to open a case to get it activated back in 2020. I've tried calling all the phone numbers I could find but all are answered by a AI which loops with instructions when I mention activations.
I have the the original order number & invoice and it shows on my Microsoft account under history but the link is no longer working and there is no Product Key associated with it.
Hope you can guide me in the right direction.
Cobus
