Problem Activation of second Windows server 2022 Std license (P46171-A21) on 32 core server

Good morning, we purchased 2 HPE DL360 Refurbrished, each of which has two 16-core Intel 6130 CPUs installed with 2.10 ghz. Each Server therefore has 32 total Cores. For each server we purchased 2 Windows Server 2022 Std Rok eu licenses (product no. P46171-A21). However, we note that even by installing only one license on a server (which should be sufficient for only half of the cores) in reality the cores all appear active and working (also verified with CPUz). We tried to install the second license on one of the two Servers following the procedure indicated at the end of this message but compared to the other server where there is only one license it seems to me that nothing changes. How can I check if both license codes are active?

Can you tell me where to find the correct procedure to enter the second license? I wouldn't want something to crash after putting the servers to work.

Thank you

Federico

Procedure performed to insert the second license: "If the second DVD key is for core licenses, you can simply add that license through the Activation Wizard:

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation.

Click Change Product Key and enter the second DVD key to activate the additional core licenses."

    Hello Federico .,

thank you for posting on the Microsoft Community Forums.

To verify and ensure that both Windows Server licenses are correctly installed and active, you can follow these steps:

    Verify Licenses Using Command Line:

    1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator: Press Win + X and select "Command Prompt (Admin)" or "Windows PowerShell (Admin)."
    2. Check the Current License Status:
      • Type
      slmgr /dli

and press Enter. This command will display the current license information and active status.

    • Look for the section that indicates the number of cores licensed. It should match the core count that you have licensed with your product keys.
    1. Check Detailed License Information:
      • To get more detailed information, type
      slmgr /dlv

and press Enter. This will provide a more comprehensive view of the licensing status, including the number of licensed cores.

    Verify Using the Activation Wizard:

    1. Access Activation Settings: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
    2. Ensure Both Product Keys are Added:
      • If not already done, click "Change Product Key" and enter the additional product key to activate the second set of cores.
      • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

After adding additional licenses, it may be necessary to reboot the server to ensure that all changes take effect properly.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,

    Lei

I did what you wrote but, as you can see from the image, I can't find anything about the number of cores that are covered by the license.

Also, even when entering the second code, I continue to see only one product key. Do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks for your collaboration

    Federico
