I cannot find the BitLocker recovery key for my desktop in my Microsoft account anymore.

I replaced the processor in my desktop with a new one and wanted to look up the recovery keys at https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey. However, I can only find the recovery key for my laptop there, not for my desktop. Even though I had set during the activation of BitLocker on my hard drives that the keys would be stored in my Microsoft account, just like on my laptop, I cannot find them anywhere on my account or on my other accounts. I also checked the official Microsoft help page and couldn't find anything specific to this issue.

    Hi Bas Kuiper1,

here are a few things you can try:

    1. Check to see if BitLocker is actually enabled on your desktop. If it's not enabled, there won't be a recovery key to find.
    2. Since you've recently replaced the processor in your desktop, it's possible that the hardware change has caused BitLocker to go into recovery mode. In this case, you can try using the recovery key that you have for your laptop, as it's possible that the same key was used for both devices.
    3. If none of the above steps work, you can try contacting Microsoft support (Global Customer Service phone numbers - Microsoft Support) for further assistance. They may be able to help you locate the recovery key for your desktop.

    Hope it helps.

    Kind regards,

    Lei
