With no monitor connected, why Dell 5820 resolution on Remote Desktop goes bad after reboot?

I have no monitor connected to Dell 5820. I control the machine via VNC or Remote Desktop. When I reboot, the resolution goes very bad and laggy. Once I connect to the monitor (display port), the resolution gets fixed immediately.

I've installed 2 additional RAM (8Gb each) from another Dell 5820 yesterday and that's when I started noticing this problem. These 2 RAMs have slower frequency compared to the originally installed RAMs. I pulled them back but the resolution problem still remains. I have other machines controlled via remote as well (XE2, XE3 and XE4) but I never encountered this problem.

    Hello.

You can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Make sure the graphics card drivers on the remote computer are up to date.
    2. On the remote desktop, set the same resolution as that on the local client.
    3. When the Dell 5820 tower workstation is not connected to a display, the remote desktop service may not correctly detect the capabilities of the graphics hardware. You can test it after plugging in the virtual display adapter.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Best regards

    Jacen
