I have few Windows Server 2019 Standard managed to install with the KB5036896.

Only of them failed to install.

sfc /scannow show some corrupted filed unable to be fix.

It's a offline environment, So I have ran the DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /restore /Source:M:\Sources\install.wim

But it still keep failing to install the KB. Only the SSU is installed successfully but not the Security CU.

Is there any method can fix the issue?

    Hi Lim Thye Teng,

here are some steps you can try:

    1. Install the KB5036896 manually. You can download the patch from Microsoft Update Catalog.
    2. Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix any issues with Windows Update.
    3. Disable any third-party antivirus software temporarily and try installing the update again.
    4. Boot the server into Safe Mode and try installing the update.

    Hi Lei,

    Thank you for your response.

    1. This is offline environment. So we are using Microsoft Update Catalog file to do the patching.
    2. Tried, no luck.

I notice that there are some system files corrupted when running sfc /scannow.
    Ran with DISM restorehealth failed.

    DISM /Online /Restorehealth /Cleanup-Image /Source:X:\Sources\install.wim:2 failed
