Authenticating Across Domains

I am in the process of recreating a Domain. (It was "Goobered", and we moved to a temp domain that we do not actually own. Three years later I get the fun of recreating the domain we do own.)

I have set the Domains with a two-way trust. Whenever I try to cross from one Domain to the other to access computers, servers or other resources I am prompted to enter my credentials. Once I enter the credentials, I can access the resources.

I need to be able to access the resources without being prompted.

I have checked the NLA settings.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you,

**Just in case anyone else has this issue: The DNS Forward Lookup Zones were set to replicate just to the Domain. Once I changed it to replicate to the Forrest the authentication started working.

    Hi RegRea,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forums.

Accessing cross-domain resources without being prompted for credentials typically requires some additional configuration. This usually involves authentication settings, permission configuration, and network settings. It's important to note that cross-domain authentication involves complex configurations and security considerations.

If you are certain about making modifications to your environment, I can provide guidance on the steps to take. However, because I'm not familiar with your specific environment and the previous domain might not be under your ownership, there may be some issues to consider. Therefore, if you're unsure about how to configure it correctly, it's essential to collaborate with your network administrator or security expert. They can assist you in reviewing and adjusting configurations to ensure the secure implementation of the required cross-domain access.

    Best regards

    Neuvi Jiang
