Local Taskbar Overlapping Remote Desktop Taskbar

Hello Community,

I'm encountering an issue when connecting to a remote server (RDP) using Citrix Receiver on my PC. The taskbar of my local PC overlaps with the taskbar of the Remote Desktop, making it difficult to access. This problem specifically occurs when my local display scale is set to 225%. At other display scales, such as 200% or 250%, the issue doesn't appear.

I've already tried various troubleshooting methods, like restarting Windows Explorer and enabling auto-hide for the taskbar, but none have resolved the issue.

How can I ensure that the taskbar of the Remote Desktop is always visible, regardless of the display scaling on my local PC?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community forum.

It is recommended that you use full-screen mode instead of window mode when connecting to a remote desktop. If you are already in full screen mode, try exiting full screen mode and then switching back again.

I don't have a Citrix Receiver environment, and I recommend that you first check the display related Settings in the client Settings, such as DPI scaling or resolution Settings, and then make adjustments. Try setting the zoom mode to "No, use native resolution" and see if that solves the problem. Also, check to see if there are updates available for the Citrix Receiver.

If the problem persists and your Windows 11 system is Professional or later, you can try using Microsoft Remote Desktop to connect to the remote server.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards

    Jacen

    Thanks, Jacen!

I'll try switching to full-screen mode and see if that helps.

In Citrix Receiver, the issue was resolved when I selected "No, use native resolution" under "High DPI," but that made the Citrix apps too small to work with. So, I opted for "Let operating system scale the resolution," but that caused this problem. I have a 4K monitor, and even choosing "Yes" under "High DPI" didn't resolve the issue.

    I'm using Windows 11 Enterprise.
